A man who illegally tore down his heritage-listed property has had his development application to rebuild at the Mt Stuart site deferred.
Darko Krajinovic asked the Hobart City Council to defer his application to build four townhouses at 55 Mount Stuart Rd after a planning committee last week recommended the development be refused.
It’s expected Mr Krajinovic will now amend the application.
The City Planning Committee last week recommended refusal, citing overshadowing on one of the four townhouses.
Other issues included traffic concerns, specifically inadequate sight distances between vehicle, cyclists and pedestrians, and concerns over vehicle light and noise affecting some bedrooms in the townhouses.
Krajinovic was fined $225,000 for illegally demolishing the 1885 home in February 2017 with an excavator.
